Some of you may know a bit about SOCIAL NETWORKING PLATFORM which may include Facebook, Twitter, Plurk, etc.
But recently I have descovered something more interesting, something more, well, professional.
Something more aim at NETWORKING.
I have to say, I thought I have known enough already... But when I saw my future Interviewer's name on Linkedin, I was still surprised and impresssed :)
I remember the other day in a ACS event, one speaker said..
If you can't catch up with the new techologies, u will be left behind. And when u are left behind...it means you will lose lots of opportunities.
Then he asked, and it's the point, ".... do you know about Linkedin...?"
I was, really, surprised when he actually pointed it over the rest of platforms. In fact, I thought it was just another similar platform to Facebook.
Later that night, I logged in with my Linkedin account that I've registered for a long time but haven't had the interest to log in again.
And, well, nothing happened...
Yes, nothing happened till yesterday.
Have I mentioned I got a job interview this Tuesday?
Anyway, there was a small thought occurred to me to enter the interviewer's name on Linkedin.
So I did.
In 1 second, I found it from a short list of people with the same name.
It's definitely him coz the title and present company is just the same.
So, I found my interviewer, who im going to meet in two days and now I know his backgrounds and specialities.
I can even guess where is he from and how old is him.
One may think it doesn't do anything good for the interview, does it.
It DOES, I should say.
I found myself having more confient and less stressed to the interview as soon as I found this mysterious man on Linkedin.
He's no longer mysterious to me, he's a real person who just happens to have more experiences than me.
Nevertheless, in practical, I can even guess what words he may expect from me. Just guess, but good enough. For me, at least.
This is not really the end of the story.
Later on, I have also found some more interesting functions out there.
But I figure I should leave some adventures for yourself.
The Social Networking Platforms really rock....
One of them just rocks me again now :) And im sure they r going to keep rocking all the way :PPPPP
By making friends with them (these platforms to be exact), I know better about social networking and I am sure there are something more beyond what Ive seen so far....
